Dartford Fesitval 2017

Many of the churches in Dartford came together to run a stall at this year’s Dartford Festival, and the Beacon had a lead roll in helping make it happen.

We had huge support from Dartford Street Pastors, Christians Against Poverty, the Dartford Cold Weather Shelter, The Brent Methodist Church ‘Messy Church’, and Haven Foodbank. Each ministry showcased and promoted their respective work, giving opportunities for people to ask questions about volunteering or seeking help for friends and family.

At the event we had a ‘Miracle Tree’ we people could write a prayer request for a miracle and tie it to the tree. Over the two days we had over 40 serious requests for a miracle. We gathered together in the tent late on Sunday afternoon to pray for for each request.

Bexleyheath ‘Healing on the Streets’ we represented at the tent, and several people were prayed for over the weekend. It was great to meet the Bexleyheath HOTS guys and with their support this maybe something the churches will pursue as a ministry in Dartford.

It was a privilege to preach and lead the open air service ‘Praise in the Park’ this year, and to share the stage with a great worship group from Dartford Community Church and the representatives from the various ministries.

This was the first year we have stepped out and run a stall within the Festival, and it won’t be the last! We have made some great friends and new connections which will help make sure next years stall will be even better. It was a great way to make Jesus famous as we shared, played, prayed, and laughed with the people of Dartford.
